Gold King Bailey, 1945-1964, was one of the all time Great Palomino Quarter Horse Stallions. He stood Grand Champion at both the Denver and Ft. Worth Stock Shows in 1948, one of only a few to ever accomplish this feat the same year. He was one of the top race horses of his time, defeating all but one horse that he ever raced against at one time or another in his racing career. A freak injury prevented a rematch of that horse. He raced only twice on official tracks, earning his AA Register of Merit in the days when AA when the highest rating given.
Gold King Bailey was a proven sire of race horses such as Bucket Bailey TAAA, Frosty Leo Hank TAAA, Becky Bailey AAA, Eneles Bailey AAA Gold Bailey Boy AAA, Gold Pacific AAA (sire), King Leo
Bailey AAA (sire), Rosa Leo Bailey AAA, etc.
He sired 8 AQHA Champions and is the maternal grandsire of 7 more AQHA Champions and numerous stakes winners and halter and performance winners. His
foals could do it all.
